Kannawidan Festival
Kannawidan Festival
The term "kannawidan" originated from the Ilocano word "kannawi" which means "to converge" or "to come together". Kannawidan Festival is celebrated in Ilocos Sur in the month of February. Kannawidan Festival showcases our rich culture and colorful traditions.
The festival features lots of events such as street dancing performances, food festivals and many more. But my favorite part of the festival is the trade fair because there are many local products featured in each stall but sometimes it's tiring because there's a lot of people making it crowded and very hot.But overall, the kannawidan festival sure is fun and exciting as it preserves and promotes our own culture and traditions. The festival focuses on bringing out Ilocanos creativity and it also build skills. The festival doesn't only focus on preserving and promoting our culture and traditions but it also focuses on fostering unity among Ilocanos.
